I do apologize it's been a month since I last blogged. Lots has been going on. Tyndall and I went home the first weekend in October. It was the first time she got to meet the rest of my family! She was a big hit and she liked everyone-- particularly T. Catherine and Gerry. Of course, she loved visiting with Tattie and Pops again.
Back in VA, Hope came to visit us and we had a blast! (Would you expect anything less?) We watched some Halloween movies, made fun fall food, and went to Carter's Mountain. Unfortunately, we decided to hit up Carter's Mountain during the "Apple Festival" at 2 pm on a Saturday. Big mistake. Huge. It was extremely crowded. I don't like crowds. We stayed for approximately ten minutes and Hope, Tyndall and I began the hike back to the car while Daniel bought our pumpkin. The pumpkin was $16.00 but he was charged $16,000.00. The owner felt pretty bad and gave it to us for free, along with some apple cider donuts. Our trip with Lara and Trey was much more successful. Hope and I also made caramel apples and butterbeer. The butterbeer was ok, but the caramel apples were amazing. And we celebrated Hope's birthday with Halloween sugar cookies and homemade icing. Tyndall had her first taste of the good life (i.e. sugar).
When Trey and Lara came to visit, we did some cool stuff too, including visiting a cidery and winery. They were preparing for weddings at both places-- October is a great wedding month!
In other news, we got into Malcolm Cole, the daycare (sob). It will be a sad day when I drop off my little baby. At least I won't be going to school; I am starting to drop her off a week early so I can get used to it. (I say "I," not "we," because I already tried to con Daniel into dropping her off the first day. Didn't work-- he has to be at the hospital at 6 am, a bit too early to have Tyndall ready to go.) I think she is a really easy baby to take care of, but her caregivers will probably think she is extremely fussy. She doesn't like being away from me. :(
Things Tyndall is doing now:
1. Watching my lips and trying to form words
2. Maybe interested in eating? (she was watching my mouth when I was chewing, but we won't be giving her solids for a while)
3. Talking lots!
4. NOT rolling over or enjoying being on her tummy
5. Trying to sit up when she is lying down or reclining in her chair or stroller (I know... I don't think this is normal but I'm not sure...)
6. Gaining weight! Wearing 6 month clothes easily, and some 9 month clothes as of today.
